Local council complaint numbers continue to rise
Complaints to the Victorian Ombudsman regarding the City of Ballarat continue to rise.
The Ombudsman’s annual report for 2015-16, released last week, showed 49 complaints relating to council were made for the year – up from 38 the year before.
Ballarat ranked 30th out of 80 regional councils for complaints.
Ombudsman Deborah Glass urged locals to make more complaints regarding local government institutions when in Ballarat earlier this year.
