VicRoads Western Highway project director Mick McCarthy said the signs provided information on the development of the overpass and the unique design features which recognise the history and significance of the avenue, providing the background story to visitors to the site.
The Avenue of Honour is a memorial to local service personnel who served in World War I, extending 22 kilometres from the iconic Arch of Victory to Weatherboard Road.
The overpass, built with a special type of noise absorbing asphalt, was officially opened on April 12 last year.
