“While it’s a General Motors exclusive event, this year the FX-FJ State Titles is going to be a special feature – they run an annual state title event just for those Holden models,” he said.
Last year more than 5000 people walked through the gates for the annual car show and more than 650 cars were on display.
“We’ve probably added at least 100 display cars every year since we started so we wouldn’t expect it to be any less,” Mr Mitchell said.
He also expected this year’s FX-FJ State Titles to draw an even bigger crowd.
All money raised through entry fees will be donated to Ballarat Base Hospital Children’s Ward.
“We’ve been sponsoring the Children’s Ward for the last four years and in that time we’ve given them an excess of $20,000 to purchase items required for the ward,” Mr Mitchell said.
“It was an easy one (choice) for us because most people know someone who has experienced or had to use the facility before.”
The event, which caters for both car enthusiasts and families, will include trade stalls, kids activities such as face painting, a jumping castle, a petting zoo and children’s horse race, as well as food and drink.
The car show will be held at Ballarat Turf Club on Sunday, October 16. Gates open at 8am for display vehicles and 10am for the public.
