The RAVE (Researching Adult and Vocational Education) group will host the event at the Lydiard Street North campus for the ninth year.
This year’s seminar theme will be “Teaching, training and learning: VET’s true business” with keynote speakers reporting on a number of major projects in the region. Federation University vocational education and training professor Erica Smith will speak on what makes a good VET teacher/trainer, and how do you get there, while University of Melbourne’s Ruth Schubert will talk about investigating quality teaching in the Victorian VET sector.
The seminar is free of charge and will be held between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
Four other presentations will focus on VET teaching/training and learning.
There will be about 70 TAFE Institutes, private training providers, schools, employment service providers and industry representatives.
