Following on from its hit performance of Mary Poppins in May, BLOC Music Theatre has been rehearsing the “musical within a comedy” for months.
The performance is a departure from BLOC’s usual schedule as an intermediate end-of-year performance.
Director Carly McDonald said the cast and crew came from all levels of experience.
“It has a smaller budget than our major production but it’s still cast with adults and the production team are at all sorts of level – some are at training level and some are at experienced level,” said said.
“It’s something different for BLOC, it’s more a boutique show.”
The show features 20 cast member on stage and upwards of 60 people working behind the scenes, all of whom have committed hundreds of hours in preparation.
The show will be performed November 4 to 6 at the 1870 Founders Theatre, Mount Helen. Tickets at www.blocmusictheatre.com
