Ballarat might be more than 100km from the Flemington Racecourse, but the Melbourne Cup cheer will be in plentiful supply across the city come Tuesday.
Seymours on Lydiard will offer two buffet options – two and three-courses with or without matched wines.
Venue manager Brodie Wightman said the restaurant had a new chef, who had started only six weeks ago, bringing with him a fresh menu.
The cup day buffet will offer a range of delicious foods including salmon and prawn chili cocktails, oysters both natural and kilpatrick, and baby lamb and mint pies.
She also encouraged punters to dress up for the day.
“Last year, we had quite a few who came in with the full race day gear,” she said.
“We’ll have the race on TV and we like to try to get the Flemington atmosphere happening.”
Ms Wightman said the staff would dress up for the occasion also.
