The Ballarat Interfaith Network is asking for people in the community to come and spend an afternoon taking part in the interfaith Friendship Walk on Sunday November 20.
The organisation is working with the Jewish, Christian, Muslim Association of Australia to host this free event and BIN member Margaret Lenan Ellis said the day will a way to demonstrate a commitment of respective friendships and trust between the religions.
“I think people will be very interested in reflecting on the similarities and differences of the major religions,” Ms Lenan Ellis said.
Ms Lenan Ellis said that she thinks it will be very rewarding on the walk through the city, especially as it will give people the special opportunity to see inside the synagogue, which is not usually open to public.
The walk will start at the Islamic mosque at 116 Elsworth St at 2.00pm, then continue on to the Hebrew Congregation synagogue in Barkly St, and finish up at St Paul's Anglican Church in Humffray St at 4.30pm.
