Federation University will establish a Malaysian support centre, which will become a teaching campus next year.
Deputy vice-chancellor (engagement) Professor Todd Walker said the centre will initially offer guidance, mentoring and associated support, such as counselling, curriculum advice and fee payments, to students, alumni and partner institutions offering FedUni programs across Asia and Africa.
But next year, it will also offer early childhood education, business management, information technology, engineering and healthcare courses.
He said it would be a regional hub for international students who want an Australian education but it is out of their financial reach.
The Federation University Australia Support Centre has been established in Kuala Lumpur with Red Consulting Group, the university’s long-term partner in the country.
“Our new support centre is the next stage of the university’s internationalisation efforts in South Asia,” Professor Walker said.
