Wild wind is lashing the city following a wild weather warning for Central Victoria issued by the Bureau of Meterology.
Powercor has confirmed 990 Ballarat Central residents have lost power, while 670 Soldiers Hill customer are also affected.
The fault location is in Drummond Street with the cause of the outage under investigation. Power is expected to be restored by 12.30am. A further 44 Wendouree residents are impacted.
