A new bus bay on the goods shed side of the Ballarat train station was listed as a priority in the 2014 Ballarat Station Precinct Master Plan, and while a space has been proposed for the interchange in the government’s recent plans, no money has been allocated.
The funding snub comes despite the fact the new-look Ballarat bus service outlined by Public Transport Victoria in June suggested all buses would travel through the station.
“I understand the issue, and that's probably more in line with the general investments we would make each and every year,” Mr Andrews said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Mr Andrews said the government would “have more to say about the bus interchange and connecting train passengers with the bus services they need”.
