Unicorn Lane has been transformed into a walkthrough of luminous boxes that glow at night, telling stories of courtship, longing and heartbreak.

Romance Lane, which lights up like small TV screens at night, is designed to construct a narrative that can be read like a romance novel, composed of images and metaphors.
The individual works, by Melbourne-based artist Jade Walsh, are made up of coloured perspex with digital and screen printed images.
Walsh’s work focuses on relationships from a female perspective and has exhibited nationally and internationally for more than 10 years, travelling to the USA and Europe for screenprinting residencies.
She works with a variety of mediums including fabric, print, poetry, painting, text, sculpture, performance, public art and video.

Romance Lane runs in Unicorn Lane Gallery, off Sturt Street, until January 8.
