A night of music and fireworks over the lake will make up the city’s free family entertainment for Australia Day.
Little ones will be up on their feet as Dora the Explorer takes to the stage for two performances in the early evening, along with a meet and greet with fans.
For an older crowd, Matty Chaps Band will pay tribute to some of Australia’s most iconic artists including John Farnham, Hunters and Collectors and Cold Chisel.
Ballarat local Matty Chaps was a finalist on television show The Voice.
To end a night of music The Beatlez Tribute Show will perform a string of hits from the iconic band.
The Ballarat Botanical Gardens and Lake Wendouree foreshore will be an alcohol free zone from 3pm. But pack a picnic, and bring along chairs and rugs.
Free entertainment kicks off at 5pm, while the 3BA Skyworks Spectacular will light the sky at 9pm, at Windmill Drive, next to the Adventure Playground, at Lake Wendouree.
Due to the fireworks display, the lake will be closed for all waterway activities. The City of Ballarat also advises no parking restrictions will apply around the lake precinct.
