City of Ballarat councillor Des Hudson said he is hopeful the structure, removed from its previous location on Mair and Ripon streets due to heritage overlay issues, will be re-located within three months.
Cr Hudson said the junction of Dana and Grenville streets is one of several options for the piece.
“I'm certainly supportive of the concept and we'll be keen to see the relocation, hopefully in the first quarter of 2017,” he said.
“It's important in all of the sites not to tuck it away. It's a prominent message in the community.”
Residents opposed its initial location due to its relation with the heritage-listed area, but still support the message.
A statement from council said a range of stakeholders would be consulted before the roundabout is relocated.
“The City of Ballarat is progressing its review of options to best showcase the Harmony Roundabout installation, which includes upcoming consultation with a range of stakeholders,” it read.
“The organisation remains committed to the installation being re-established at a prominent roundabout or other appropriate site.”
