To date, a new drainage system has been installed with work on irrigation system beginning earlier this month.
Other works scheduled include demolishing the old brick toilet block to make way for a new netball court.
The project was funded by the council, with $50,000 from the state government’s community sports infrastructure fund.
The Ballarat City Council said the project will also improve the football oval.
The site is home to the Redan Football and Netball Club.
All works will be completed in time for the start of the 2017 football and netball season.
