The Winterfield master plan was released last week by Melbourne-based developer Goldfields, with 32 of the proposed 1100 lots going on sale on Saturday.
The estate is located on Greenhalghs Road in Winter Valley.
However, the developers did not release any more details of the proposed new schools, saying an announcement would be made at a later date.
The master plan shows the schools would back on to each other, with the secondary school located next to a sports precinct complete with leisure centre and the primary school/community centre adjacent to retail and mixed use zones.
Any public schools in the estate would have to be approved and funded by the state government, who also partially fund Catholic and independent schools.
The growing Ballarat West area is also still waiting for a new state government primary school site to be finalised, with Catholic primary school Siena opening in Lucas earlier this year.
Developed by Goldfields, the lots – ranging from 544 square metres to 615 square metres – are being sold by Hocking Stuart Ballarat.
The estate will also include a retail area, medical centre, cafes, parks and a retirement village, along with walking trails and play areas. There will also be grasslands designed by Chelsea Flower Show winner Wes Fleming who has also created six front garden options for Winterfield residents.
Winterfield developer Marco Gattino said indigenous flora and fauna conservation had been integrated into the masterplan.
“Winterfield is an exclusive community, like no other in the area,” Mr Gattino said.
“From the beautifully designed streetscapes through to amenity and connectivity, residents have everything right at their fingertips.
“Winterfield couldn’t have come at a better time for first home owners and we’re excited to launch.”
Hocking Stuart Ballarat director Tim Valpied said there had already been a high level of interest in the 1100 lots.
“Winterfield offers a great opportunity for people who have grown up in the area and are looking for their ‘forever home’ in a place they know and love, at an affordable price,” Mr Valpied said.
“We’ve already received a high level of interest.”
