Pyrenees Shire to keep residents 'in the loop'

COUNCILLORS are preparing to take major town issues straight back to the people for informal chats in Beaufort and Avoca later this month.

Pyrenees Shire Council is trialling a new consultation method, named ‘Keep Me in the Loop’, aimed to improve community engagement and offer residents more chance for one-one-one access to councillors and council officers.

The sessions will offer details on the upcoming budget, a preview to a new planning project, the next steps in a recreation strategy and a flood recovery update.

Pyrenees chief executive officer Jim Nolan said council was keen to keep improving community engagement and looked forward to testing the new format.

Sessions – March 28: 6-8pm Beeripmo Development Centre, Beaufort. March 29: 6-8pm Avoca Hall Supper Room.
