Melham rode star filly She Will Reign to victory in Saturday’s Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens.
The victory in the $3.5million event is the former St Patrick’s College boy’s 13th at group 1 level.
Melham famously partnered champion sprinter Black Caviar to his first triumph at the elite level in 2010.
“I’ve won a few group 1s now, but this is my first major. I actually had to pinch myself going across the line. She’s an exceptional filly, she’s a little sweetheart,” Melham told Channel 7 after the Golden Slipper win.
She Will Reign is trained by Gary Portelli.
