CAFS now hopes to send all 83 young people in residential care to see the circus after surpassing its $3,300 fundraising target on Tuesday .
Her Majesty’s Theatre has also donated 20 Circus Oz tickets to CAFS’ young people.
“We are amazed at the generosity of the local community,” CAFS chief executive officer Allan Joy said.
“Outings like the circus are small pleasures our kids look forward to all year.”
Her Majesty’s theatre co-ordinator Jonathon Harris said the theatre was “are happy to support this cause because everyone needs some circus in their life.”
EARLIER: Her Majesty’s Theatre has donated Circus Oz tickets to young people in care after Child and Family Services launched an appeal to make up for tickets lost in last week’s big top liquidation.
The young people had won tickets to the Great Moscow Circus and were “devastated” to miss out after circus cancelled the remainder of its national tour, CAFS said.

Her Majesty’s Theatre will also offer a 10 per cent discount to its Circus Oz show for people who purchased Great Moscow Circus tickets.
“Her Majesty’s are happy to support this cause by letting children of CAFS see one of Victoria's best circuses, because everyone needs some circus in their life,” theatre co-ordinator Jonathon Harris said.
CAFS on Monday appealed for donations to send young people in care to Cirque Du Soleil in Melbourne. The CAFS fundraising page shows the organisation is almost halfway to their $3,300 goal which would cover tickets for all kids in care and their carers.

Circus Oz is at Her Majesty’s on March 31 at 7:30pm and April 1 at 1.30pm and 7.30pm. People who bought tickets to the Great Moscow Circus can receive a 10 per cent discount if they present their tickets at Her Majesty’s prior to the show. The discount cannot be processed over the phone or online. Tickets to Circus Oz are $55 for adults, $50 for concession and $20 for children.
