The team, which has made the leap to division one competition this season, cruised to a 4-0 win over Creswick on Sunday.
Daylesford’s opening round victory on the road came thanks to a brace from Jordan Barnes and goals to Abdel Bennani and Harry Robb.
Joining Daylesford in the top flight this season is Buninyong, which was beaten at home by the Warrnambool Rangers.
Ryan Bail scored a hat-trick for the visitors, while Isaac Slater netted the other.
Buninyong and Daylesford finished the 2016 division two season in the top two spots on the table and played off in the grand final before being promoted.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Sebastopol Vikings beat Ballarat North United 3-2 at St Georges Reserve, with the second of Justin Robson’s goals proving the winner in the 89th minute.
Robson’s other goal came in the eighth minute.
Rod Oppenhuis also found the net in the Vikings’ home triumph, while Anthony Antonetti and Alexander Worthington scored for North.
Last season’s league champions Forest Rangers took on Victoria Park on Friday night at Morshead Park, but the fixture finished with a 0-0 scoreline, while Ballarat beat Bacchus Marsh 6-0 in the round’s other clash.
