Speaking to The Courier on Wednesday, mayor Samantha Mclntosh said she hoped Ballarat’s elite facilities such as Eureka Stadium and Lake Wendouree would be used should the bid get the green light.
The meeting comes after four more councils from Wangaratta, Portland, Swan Hill and Horsham all expressed their interest in becoming involved in the bid.

“At this point we’re asking everyone to put their best foot forward because that’s going to be a key part of the feasibility study.”
A meeting with representatives of all regional councils in the state will take place in Shepparton in a fortnight, with a further taskforce meeting set to be held in Ballarat later in May.
