The annual Loreto College walkathon aims to raise $30,000 for a range of Ballarat and national charities.
Students and staff walked from Kirk’s Reservoir to the college dressed up to the theme ‘on the shelf’.
Loreto College director of faith and mission Mandy Carroll said the event had been a part of the college calendar for more than 20 years.
“The dedication and effort of students to get involved in the event brings a great spirit to the day. The fundraising efforts and those put into the creative costumes is always amazing to see,” Mrs Carroll said.
Students and staff aimed to beat last year’s efforts of raising $20,000. The donations will be tallied next week.
The money raised will support charities including The St Vincent de Paul Society, United Way, Centacare, Exodus House and the Loreto Gari-Uai Primary School in Timor-Leste.
