The store will cease trading on Sunday, June 4.
The renovations will see an expansion of the existing supermarket as well as the addition of 15 new shops and four new restaurants.
The redevelopment will also include a new entry leading to the Norman Street-facing carpark.
A spokesperson for Woolworths said all staff members had been offered positions at other local Woolworths sites, but did not respond to questions from The Courier about how many staff were affected.
Ballarat’s sixth Woolworths, located at the Delacombe Town Centre, is expected to open late this year.
The redevelopment of Stockland Wendouree was approved by Ballarat City Council last year.
