Set to run in conjunction with Good Beer Week and the Ballarat Heritage Month, the Beers through the Years Festival at the Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute on Saturday will seek to put take a look back at the city’s rich brewing history.
James Coghlan, who is a descendant of some of Ballarat’s most prolific brewers from the Ballarat Brewing Company, will deliver a presentation in the Minerva Room detailing the evolution of beer in Ballarat.
Event co-curator Lauren Bourke will also take to the microphone to detail the story of women in beer and their importance in the bar and hospitality scene in the late 19th century.
Beer lovers will also be treated to special release offerings from Ballarat brewers Red Duck, Athletic Club and Cubby Haus.
Doors open at 10am and the exhibition will remain on display for the Heritage Weekend on May 27-28.
