Ballarat Miners retained top position with a “huge” result over second-placed Dandenong in Sunday’s South East Australian Basketball League clash.

The Miners responded from its disappointing loss to Albury-Wodonga on Friday night to claim an 100-87 victory over the fellow premiership contender.
The Miners dominated the aerial contest, taking a clear advantage off the boards, 49-30.
Coach Eric Hayes said it was a crucial win for the group and it was important to perform like that against quality opposition.
“It was huge...they did a great job, they followed along with the feedback we’d given them and we got the result,” Hayes said.
“They’d won four or five on the trot and beaten some really good sides.
“This time of the year, we want to be among the better teams, this is one of the better teams...unfortunately we played pretty poorly against Albury on Friday, but to come back today and just get back to doing those things that were good for us – it was really important for us.”
Miners now face Bendigo on Saturday, with four rounds remaining it will be eager to secure top spot.
Marvin King-Davis was influential with 33 points while Leon Henry notched up 14 rebounds.
