The deal worth $100,000 a year for three years was passed at council’s ordinary meeting on Wednesday night.

Basketball Ballarat chief executive Peter Eddy said the funding went to more than Ballarat Miners and Rush basketball programs.

“The healthy community program we deliver for free, we don't charge any groups in the community for that,” he said.
