Eleven Country Fire Authority trucks have responded to an out of control blaze at Scarsdale on Thursday.
The Vic Emergency website said the fire was near the corner of Basin Road and the Glenelg Highway.
District 15 duty officer Kade Dowie said he was not expecting a major bushfire.
“It is a small area of grass burning out there,” he said.
“There is a lot of appliances mainly because it is wet and we can’t get to it.
“It was likely the wind has contributed to the fire spread.”
