Campbell Molyneux, who has a passion for fishing off the Bellarine Peninsula, said he last saw the boat in a paddock on his Ti Tree Road property on Saturday.
But by Tuesday he realised it had disappeared along with a trailer.
"It's gut-wrenching," Mr Molyneux said.
"It's quite distinct, it's a wider boat than normal.
"To most it's just any boat, but if you're a fisherman you'd have a second look at the width."
Police have called on public assistance to help locate Mr Molyneux’s tinny.
It is a white Horizon Sunrunner with a blue canopy, with registration MQ496. It was on a Dunbier trailer with registration X43233.
Anyone with information about the theft of the boat is urged to contact Ballarat-based Constable Andrew Young on 5336 6000.
Alternatively, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime online.
