There was hardly anything in it, but Hop Temple has been voted in as Ballarat’s best pub.

More than 1500 people voted in The Courier’s poll about finding the best hotel in the city.

The voting was extremely tight, with just six votes separating the top three venues.

The Mallow on Armstrong Street South and the Royal Hotel at Snake Valley rounded out the top three.

Thanks everybody who voted and who knows – you might just find yourself a new pub to test out.
