Rezaie, a third Dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate, trains with Southern Warriors Martial Arts under experienced local fight coach Steve Hardy, who will also travel to the event.
Hardy said Rezaie had been fully funded to compete in the tournament, which will draw competitors from all over the world and with different martial arts backgrounds.
Fighters will battle full contact in one big non-weighted division.
“Mohammad's lead up to this tournament has been solid and his strength and skill in the ring should hold him in good stead in Thailand,” Hardy said.
Rezaie and Hardy will leave for Thailand on Thursday.
