Severe weather warning issued for Ballarat
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Ballarat and Daylesford, with damaging winds expected for much of the state.
A cold front from the Bight crossed Southwest Victoria this morning and will reach central areas around lunchtime. Winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h will develop this morning and continue into the afternoon, with the possibility of peak gusts of around 100 km/h.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
- Keep clear of fallen power lines
