Carman, who had a short coaching stint at Ballarat Football League club Sebastopol in 2014, will be guest speaker at a Ballarat Sportsmen’s Club dinner on Wednesday, November 1.
“Fabulous Phil – The Phil Carman Story” was published in June this year.
The flamboyant and highly skilled Carman, who was well known for his white boots, had a colourful and sometimes controversial 100-game career with Collingwood, Melbourne, Essendon and North Melbourne from 1975 to 1982.
He is infamously remembered for head-butting a boundary umpire, for which he was suspended for 20 matches while with the Bombers.
