Ballarat Golf Club general manager Michael Phillips said the club and the PGA were nearing an agreement to keep the event in Ballarat.
The club is hoping for a three-year deal and it was now just a matter of working through a couple of the finer details with the PGA.
PGA general manager Geoff Stewart echoed Phillips’ optimism, saying it was “highly-likely” the tournament would stay in Ballarat.
“We’re both very keen on holding it and we would love to enter into a three-year deal,” Phillips said.
