City of Ballarat has reported that the drainage system installation is complete, irrigation system is nearing completion and shaping of the surface profile and import of the new sand cap currently underway.

The final stage of turf installation will commence in the coming weeks, with the establishment of the new surface expected to be finished and ready for play before the start of the 2018 football season.

There has been $500,000 in funding provided for the project, including $450,000 from the City of Ballarat and $50,000 from the state government through its 2016/17 Community Sports Infrastructure Fund – Minor Facilities.

Pitchcraft Australia was the company awarded the contract to carry out the ground works.
