The north-bound lanes are blocked as a result of the smash, which occurred about 2.10pm.
Paramedics are currently treating patients on scene, although the full extent of the injuries are not yet known.
Circumstances leading up to the incident are not yet known, but a maroon four-wheel drive came to rest facing the wrong direction.
A silver sedan was also heavily damaged.
South-bound traffic is unaffected.
People are advised to avoid the area.
