The past Victoria Country representative and All Australian player is committed to the Demons for the 2018 Central Highlands Football League season.
He has accepted a playing assistant coach role.
Waight will work closely with Demons senior coach Heath Pyke, who is getting set for his fourth season at the helm.
Pyke said Waight was an exciting addition to the club.
“We are more than happy with the acquisition and sure he is going to add plenty to our side next season,” Pyke said.
“He’ll bring some experience and knowledge from his time in town at Redan and give us some extra leadership as well, which is probably well needed with the young group we’ve got at the moment.”
Waight, who only played seven senior games for Redan last season, is expected to fill a role off half back for the Demons in 2018.
Bungaree finished last season seventh on the ladder before an elimination final defeat.
