A group of 12 from the club claimed a third placing in a division at the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation event, which was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre late last month.
Ballarat Blizzard sent two teams to the championships, with the one that placed third including Kiesha Formosa, Paige Mihalec, Liam Bedggood, Lachlan Holloway, Darcy Sapwell, Gemma Lee, Gemma Hodges, Kaylee Sutton, Payton Dodds, Teagan Dodds, Shelby Currie and Katie Riddel.
All members of the squad were between 14 and 21 years of age.
Isabellah Jackson is coach of the team and was thrilled with the podium finish, which followed a flawless routine that resulted in zero deductions.
“(That) is an amazing thing for a cheer team,” she said.
“The team has worked so hard to get to this point and I am incredibly proud of both level two teams.”
Jackson said the club had tryouts scheduled for later this month, with sessions set for December 19 and 21.
