For film-loving families, the cinemas have plenty of options filling their screens.
Weather it is a musical about a 19th century entrepreneur’s circus, an animation about a small boy’s passion for music or a reboot of a classic family film, there is something for everyone on Boxing Day.
Coco, PG, 105 minutes
Heading the list is Pixar’s latest release Coco.
Featuring the voices of Anthony Gonzales, Benjamin Bratt, Edward James Olmos and Cheech Marin, this animated feature tells the tale of 12-year-old Miguel Rivera.
Coming from a family of shoemakers who hate music, secretly talented musician Miguel accidentally enters the Land of the Dead in an effort to gets his family’s blessing to play music.
Full of stunning images and wonderful storytelling, Pixar has seemingly done it again with another amazing animation.
The Greatest Showman, PG, 105 minutes
Starring Hugh Jackman, this musical follows the life of entrepreneur PT Barnum.
After losing his office job, Barnum (Jackman) decides to create a show like no one has ever seen.
Featuring acrobats, singers and bearded women, the spectacle of the film is matched by the talent in the cast with Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya joining Jackman.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, PG, 111 minutes
A fresh take on a classic family film will be released on December 26.
The original Jumanji starred Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst and saw a board game take over a town.
The reboot sees four students literally sucked into a video game and taking on new characters.
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, the modernised version of Jumanji looks like a lot of fun.
Downsizing, M, 135 minutes
When a revolutionary program that shrinks people to five inches tall to help the world’s over-population problem, Paul and Audrey (Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig) volunteer for it.
But when Audrey backs out at the last minute, Paul is stuck as a five-inch high man.
Downsizing has a unique premise and is full of terrific actors including Jason Sudeikis, Christoph Waltz, Neil Patrick Harris, Alec Baldwin and Margo Martindale.
Doctor Who: Twice Upon A Time, PG, 108 minutes
The popular Doctor Who series is set for another Christmas special. This time the Doctor comes face to face with himself in what is set to be Peter Capaldi’s finale as the Time Lord.
