Residents in Ballarat’s rapidly growing west can expect to have access to new childcare and kindergarten facilities by the end of the month following the completion of the Lucas Community Hub.
City of Ballarat staff will begin to move into the $4 million facility as of next week, alongside YMCA kindergarten staff.
On top of childcare and kindergarten services, the hub will house maternal and child health consulting rooms, early childhood intervention and family support services as well as multi-purpose community meeting space and informal spaces for playgroups.
Ballarat City chief executive Justine Linley the building was now completely fitted out and would be opened in the coming weeks. “It’s been designed for a young, growing community and that’s exactly what it is.”
