It will be the first time Eddy has led the side at Melbourne Country Week, which begins on February 19. Inform Ballarat-Redan captain Jayden Hayes has been named vice-captain.
The BCA released its 13-man squad for its campaign, boasting some impressive names.
Brown Hill’s Knowles brothers, Jason and Ryan, will be key figures in the batting line-up along with Hayes and Mick Nolan.
While the bowling attack will be led by Eddy and teammate Prabath Priyankara alongside Wendouree spinner Tom Le Lievre and a host of all-rounders.
North Ballarat and competition leading run-scorer Leigh Lorenzen has been named and is expected to play some matches early in the week but will be unavailable in the latter stages.
While there are some capable names in the squad, there is also a number of BCA stars that were unable to make the trip.
Reigning EJ Cleary medalist Matt Ringin is unavailable as is the case for Mt Clear’s Steve Nicholson who will be gearing up for the Mounties Regional Big Bash final at the MCG on February 20.
While Napoleons-Sebastopol’s Liam Rigby is injured and Wendouree’s Cole Roscholler is already ruled out due to work commitments.
