The former young Brisbane Lions forward is one of three recruits picked up in last year’s trade period named to play for the Bulldogs at Mars Stadium.
Hayden Crozier (Fremantle) and Jackson Trengove (Port Adelaide) will join him in the Western Bulldogs’ first outing in the JLT Community Series.
Schache, who was the second pick in the 2015 national AFL draft, secured a switch after voicing a desire to be traded back to Victoria, where played with Murray Bushrangers.
He has been named to start on interchange, with Crozier at half back and Trengove at fuill forward.
Trengove’s former Port Adelaide teammate Jarman Impey will line up in his new Hawthorn colours.
Curiously neither Trengove or Impey played for Port Adelaide when it defeated the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat in round 22 last year.
Jarryd Roughead will lead the Hawks – facing his cousin Jordan Roughead from the Bulldogs.
Hawks fans will be encouraged to see highly touted Jaeger O'Meara beside Tom Mitchell in the midfield.
Saturday’s match begins at 2.05pm.
