Shadow Sax takes out Cranbourne Cup for Stewart stable

Shadow Sax took his cups tally for the season to four at Cranbourne trots on Saturday night.

The five-year-old added the group 3 $50,000 Cranbourne Gold Cup, 2555m, to the group 1 South Australian Cup, and country cups at Stawell and Geelong, in addition to a third in the Ballarat Pacing Cup.

Shadow Sax ($2 favourite) found the lead and scored by four metres in 1:56.1. Shadow Sax has had an extraordinary run since returning from injury late last season, with nine wins in 12 starts.

He also continued a great run by Cardigan trainer Emma Stewart, who had a treble at Cranbourne on the back of six wins on Thursday with two at Maryborough and four in Ballarat.

DAYLESFORD husband and wife trainer/driver combination Michael Barby and Anne-Maree Conroy produced a double at Melton on Friday night.

Open class pacer It Is Billy returned to winning form, while trotter Regal Pepperell had her fifth win from her latest six starts.
