SEMI-FINAL
at Wendouree Turf
Saturday and Sunday
Can North Ballarat turn around a round 12 thrashing and claim a semi-final victory over Golden Point?
Or will the Pointies produce another classy display and charge their way into the Ballarat Cricket Association first grade grand final?
The two teams lock horns over two days this Saturday and Sunday, just a week after Golden Point claimed a dominant win against its rivals.
On that occasion, the Pointies made 217 batting first and then skittled the Roosters for just 85 in reply.
It has been the only meeting between the two sides in 2017-18.
North Ballarat will get back key all-rounder Leigh Lorenzen as well as top order batsman Mick Nolan for the semi-final after both were absent for round 12.
Roosters skipper Adam Eddy oozed confidence when asked if his team could turn around the result this weekend and pointed at a strengthened line-up as one of the reasons why they could win.
Golden Point skipper Josh White said it was good to get the edge on North heading into the semi-final and has decided to stick with the same 11 for the knockout encounter.
The Pointies finished the home and away campaign undefeated and on top of the ladder, with the Roosters fourth after a season that ended a long finals drought for the club.
