The Bears delivered Ballarat East a straight-sets exit from the finals series with a commanding victory on Saturday.
Central Wendouree won three rinks and drew the other in a 115-77 thrashing of the Two Blues at Buninyong.
Skipper Col Johnson did the bulk of the damage, with his team winning 33-14.
The Bears finished the home and away rounds in fourth spot on the ladder, just a point inside the finals bracket. The team then beat City Oval in a knockout semi-final before upsetting Ballarat East at the weekend.
The Two Blues will be bitterly disappointed with how quickly their campaign ended. Ballarat East finished second on the ladder, but has been sent tumbling out of the premiership race with back-to-back defeats by Buninyong and Central Wendouree.
Buninyong had the weekend off after being the first team through to the grand final and will look to secure its second division one flag in the space of three seasons next Saturday.
Preliminary finals were played across the Ballarat District Bowls Division at the weekend.
Smeaton beat Waubra to set up a grand final showdown with Linton in division two and also managed to defeat Avenue in division five to book a place in the decider against Bungaree.
Other winners on Saturday afternoon were Ballan (division three and eight), Ballarat, City Oval, Creswick and Linton.
