Grass fire near Ballan halts Melbourne to Ballarat train services

A GRASS fire caused train services from Melbourne to Ballarat to be stopped last night.The small fire broke out at 6.50pm on the railway track at Ingliston near Ballan.A CFA spokeswoman said sleepers on the track caught fire, causing Melbourne to Ballarat train services to be stopped.District CFA crews were quickly on the scene and had the fire under control shortly afterwards.The fire was declared safe by 8.20pm.The Courier was unable to contact V/Line for comment last night.
