Ballarat got its Ballarat District Soccer Association women’s league season off to a flying start with a 9-0 win over Forest – and Tayte Fraser and Keryn Walters had a field day.

Fraser found the back of the net on five occasions while Walters delivered the other four goals.
The dangerous pair caused Forest all sorts of problems and coach LeRoy Hand was stoked with the performance. He said while his star players up front get the credit on the scoreboard, it took a great team display to produce the result.
But for Fraser, who is also a talented tennis player, it wasn’t even her greatest haul on the pitch – having previously kicked six goals in this league.
The 17-year-old using her speed to her advantage.
“Because it’s such a big pitch, my teammates could just kick it long so I could run onto it,” Fraser said.
For Walters it was a great way to start her time at Ballarat, having mainly played for Melbourne University as well as a stint with Ballarat Eureka Strikers in 2016.
Walters already enjoying her time at her new club.
“I’m really enjoying it, everyone’s been really welcoming,” Walters said.
“It’s been a little while since I’ve played, so it was good to get back into it.”
