He will join Youth League Miner Ethan Fiegert on the men’s team, who was selected as a bottom age player.
Basketball Ballarat athlete and coach development manager Nathan Cooper-Brown said McKenzie had done a sensational job in the past two years in the program and the selection was reward for his hard work and passion for the game.
Ballarat Rush point guard Georgia Amoore will lead the women’s team as captain of Country Victoria, while Bella Westbrook fills an emergency position.
Basketball Geelong hosts the Under-18 Australian Championships from April 21-28.
Some of Australia’s stars have been discovered at the Under-18’s with Boomers Matthew Dellavedova and Patty Mills as well as Opals Liz Cambage and Sara Blicavs having competed in the tournament in the past.
