Football devotee Shaun Kelly to be farewelled at Mars Stadium service

The football community, family and friends will celebrate the life of Ballarat football devotee Shaun Kelly at a memorial service on Friday.

SERVICE TO FAREWELL: A Western Bulldogs grand final win in 2016 was a dream come true for mad fan Shaun Kelly, who was a much-loved member of the community.

Kelly, who was well known in the Ballarat football community, died on Saturday at Sunshine Hospital following a sudden medical condition. 

A memorial service will be held at Mars Stadium from 2pm on Friday with a private family funeral held earlier in the day. 

Tributes have flowed on social media for 37-year-old Kelly, his wife and family. 

He is remembered by many as a larger than life personality who had a passion to help others, particularly in the world of community football. 

He made his mark in the community sporting landscape in his work with AFL Goldfields, the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, and his own media production company On Deck Media.

The passionate Western Bulldogs fan was also the co-founder of Ballarat Bulldogs supporter group, which launched in February last year.
