Smith said given “unlucky” results – a round one loss to Fawkner and round two 3-3 draw with Essendon United – this weekend’s home encounter was extra important for his team.
A conceded penalty in the 93rd minute saw the Vikings share the points with Essendon United, which had trailed 3-1 earlier in the fixture.
Striker Kuanyjal Tuany received two yellow cards in that clash and will miss Saturday’s game against FC Strathmore as a result.
The match starts at 3pm at St Georges Reserve.
