The meeting had been rescheduled to tonight after the celebration initially planned for late March was also rained out.
Belmont Speedway Drivers’ Club and Victorian Speedcar Drivers Association were planning to run the inaugural “Bill Evans Classic” for speedcars.
Evans promoted Redline from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s and was instrumental in getting Redline meetings televised live.
The club announced the cancellation on its Facebook page: ”All just got flooded out with a major down pour. Infield now shagged, pit area under water. We tried but another one lost to Mother Nature.”
