With the average wedding taking more than 14 months to plan and costing $50,000, savvy couples were on the lookout for the latest services at the lowest prices.
One of the most popular features of the annual expo is the Ferrari Formalwear and Ed Harry Menswear fashion parade, which took to the catwalk to show off the most popular looks for brides, grooms, wedding parties and families.
Chris Iles started Affordable Wedding Expos Ballarat last year with the idea to bring local wedding businesses together in one venue to showcase their affordable options.
“I’ve been to a few weddings expos in Ballarat over the last few years. I found they were often filled with Melbourne or Geelong based businesses. To me, that’s just more travelling for couples planning their big day”, and a huge shame for Ballarat’s economy,” he said.
“Ballarat has so many amazing businesses working within the wedding industry, each providing a product or service with a touch of local pride. Using Ballarat businesses can often mean affordable wedding options for couples and a reduction in their planning time.”
